Detecting MP2 transcoded to Wave

Hi all.. I have a large library of music that has unknown sources.. FakntheFunk has identified much of it as inferior but some of the files are mark ok but include files that were mp2 transcoded to wave. Their spectrum shows the audio bandwidth limited at 16k.



Is there any way other than looking thru the spectrum images for this type of file?

Hey there,

if the files are makred as "OK" but have a cutoff at 16kHz, then the bitrate should be something around 128 kbps
So you could easily sort the files by the bitrate and remove/delete files with a lower bitrate.

A file claminig to be 128 kbps and  really contains such a low quality file is NOT fake, because it does not claim to have a higher quality. Therefore, they are marked as OK
