Feature Request: Custom text when renaming files

This post was updated on .
Hello,

I just gave a try of FTF to get a feel of the workflow, and get an idea of how useful it can be to save me time.

I was surprised I could not find a way to customize the string used to rename files when fake/corrupt/bad files are detected. This would mean I would now have to do a pass with a batch file renamer on my whole collection to change whatever file FTF would have renamed to something I can use, removing the spaces, non-ascii char and replacing the actual text with one that fits my naming scheme.

Not sure if this is me who missed the options or if this is actually missing from FTF, but without this option FTF is not helping as much as expected from my use case.

-edit-

it would also be useful, at least to me, to have the ability to rename the folder holding the bad files. in my use case appending or prepending a custom text to the directory name.

Thanks for the feedback.

The idea behind using a fixed string for the renaming process is, that a user can  (accidently) apply the renaming process multiple times. If so, "Fakin The Funk" can identify that there was set a marker previsoulsy and remove it - to prevent filenames getting longer and longer... Also, the option "remove markers" is possible this way.

But I surely can offer an "advanced" mode somehow :)

I will try to include the "rename folder" feature...
